This Privacy Policy describes how Mentisco ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the Network Scout Android application ("the App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy.

1. Information We Collect

Network Scout is designed to work without collecting personal information. Specifically:

WiFi data: The App reads WiFi network information (SSIDs, BSSIDs, signal strength, channel, security type) directly from your device. This data is displayed on-screen and is never transmitted to our servers.
Location permission: Android requires the ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION or ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION permission to scan for WiFi networks. We request this permission solely for network scanning. We do not track or store your GPS location.
No account required: The App does not require you to create an account, log in, or provide any personal information.

2. Crash Reporting & Analytics

The App does not collect analytics or crash report data beyond what Android provides to you through the Google Play Console as the app developer. No third-party analytics SDKs are included in the App.

3. How We Use Information

WiFi data scanned by the App is used exclusively to display network information to you on your device. It is not stored persistently, shared with third parties, or transmitted off your device.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or transfer any information about you or your device to third parties. There is no information to share, as the App does not collect personal data.

5. Third-Party Services

The App is distributed through the Google Play Store. Google may collect information about your use of the Play Store under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Data Retention

Because we do not collect personal data, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on our end. Any network scan history stored within the App itself is held locally on your device and can be cleared by clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

8. Security

Since no personal data is transmitted from your device to our servers, the primary security considerations are your device's own security. We recommend keeping your device and the App up to date.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and post the revised policy here. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
